This three-day celebration kicks off the City of Chicago's festival season. The 17th annual Chicago Mayfest brings in three days of German tradition celebrating spring's arrival! Maypole dancing, pretzels, beer, craft vendors, and broad spectrum of entertainment genres starting off Friday at 5pm with headliner bands. This festival also features the Kids Day Celebration on Saturday. Get free health screenings and safety information from 10am until 2pm. See Spot strut at Chicago's Pet Parade and Pet Expo on Sunday May 22nd, sponsored by Higgins Animal Clinic. Deck out your pooch, cat, rabbit (all pets accepted!) and register your pet beginning at 11am until 12 noon on Sunday. Categories include Pet and owner look-a-like,Best trick, and Best Dressed. Emcees this year include US99.5 radio personality, Lisa Dent and Illinois Lottery personality, Linda Kollmeyer. Starting at 2pm on Sunday, the traditional Mayfest begins with the Johnny Wagner Band, coupled with German dancing and singing around the Maypole. As family friendly music fills the stage, kids can enjoy face painting, balloons, arts and crafts, exercise activities, and go moon jumping! Start your summer off right with this incredible festival!
