The 4000 Foundation, Limited proudly announces plans for Rail Fair to be held Saturday, July 22th, 2017 from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Copeland Park, Rose & Clinton Streets, La Crosse. Rail Fair has grown to become the tri-state's largest one-day Railroad Hobby Sale, Model Railroad Flea Market & Swap Meet. This annual extravaganza celebrates the area's railroad heritage while raising funds to maintain and restore The La Crosse Short Line display in Copeland Park. Rail Fair traditionally hosts vendors from six states offering 280 tables of railroad related merchandise. Rail Fair patrons will have the opportunity to buy, sell and trade an outstanding selection of model, toy and antique trains, books, magazines, railroad memorabilia, railroad art, hobby supplies, repair & replacement parts & accessories, and many more related items. The La Crosse Short Line Railroad Museum will be open for guided tours. The big steam locomotive whistle can be blown for a small donation. Several railroad exhibits and displays will also be offered, including a working telegraph display, where visitors can send and receive telegraph messages to and from Grand Crossing Tower. Concessions will be provided. All proceeds from this event are used to maintain and restore The La Crosse Short Line Railroad Museum. The 4000 Foundation is a non-profit organization formed in 1989.
