38 years ago, in an empty corner lot off of Route 59, Crossroads Fest was born amidst polyester and AMC Pacers. It was the Disco Era, the country had just passed thru Watergate and we were looking for some fun. It lasted one evening. Now , it's grown from a community Octoberfest to an event that draws more than 15,000 people during its three-day run. This year's Crossroads Festival will be from 4 p.m. to midnight Aug. 1, 12 p.m. to 1 a.m. Aug. 2, and 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 3 at Four Seasons Park in Shorewood. The Festival is brought to the community by the Shorewood Area Chamber of Commerce. The presenting sponsor for the entire weekend is Heartland Bank and Trust.
