The popular Rhythm & Roots Festival also celebrates an award by the American Bus Association as one of the Top 100 Events in North America. The annual roots music festival returns with a sizzling lineup of New Orleans flavoring featuring blues, Cajun, Zydeco, swing, New Orleans R&B, honky tonk and more. Four music stages are featured including a Main Stage and Dance Stage with daytime dance lessons and evening dances. The Family Stage provides storytelling, mardi gras maskmaking, evening movies and other activities for kids. The Workshop Stage has intimate music demonstrations and interaction with artists. A wide array of the best food and merchant vendors along with instrument lessons for teens at the Kids Cajun Academy (free advance signup required) make Rhythm & Roots an outstanding and unique festival. Food vendors will feature seafood, Cajun food, barbecue, Middle Eastern, vegetarian, salads, gourmet coffee & desserts. Sat & Sun include kids Mardi Gras parade. Two large wooden dance floors make for great dancing at both the Main Stage and the Dance Pavilion. Camping is available with showers. Swimming area and kiddie park are on site.
